Telepathy

Telepathy - The transference of thought from one mind to another is known as telepathy. Most people have experienced telepathy at least once in their lifetimes. (No, I don't have the data to back up that statement... still, I think it is true). Receiving a telepathic message can feel like a feeling rather than a thought. Somehow you know something is wrong and later in the day or weeks later you will be able to match up a troubling event that occurred miles away from you when you had that "something is off" feeling. Someone you care about was involved in an accident, became ill, or was a victim to a crime, was experiencing a heartbreak, etc. At that moment you were telepathically picking up thought-energies from someone dear to you.
And don't think your unspoken words are safe inside your brain either. Your thoughts are likely being picked upon by others.

Moms (and sometimes Dads too!) Are Instinctual Telepaths

Your mom may not know exactly what is troubling you, but when she senses things are not right she will phone you within hours or days of when you were hurting or struggling in some way. When a concerned and questioning parent calls it can be annoying, yet comforting at the same time. If you are still processing an issue in your brain or if you don't want your mother in your business you try your best to deflect her directness. "Is everything okay with you?" Or, "I've been thinking about you all day... what's up?" You might respond with dodgy answers hoping to get off her radar. You've learned not to tell her everything is okay when it clearly is not. She's not going to believe that, she KNOWS something is off. Still, some conversations weren't meant for our moms. Your mom doesn't need to know all the details of your life, right? So, instead you explain that you didn't sleep well last night or that you think you might be catching the flu, something that she can relate to and not press further. Although if she lives nearby she is going to show up with homemade chicken soup so you might need to be a bit more creative. After you are off the phone you are likely relieved that you escaped your mom's interrogation without spilling your guts. But, her calling reminds you that you are not alone and that someone cares. You love your mom and she loves you back.

Besties Are Telepathic Too!

Best friends are notorious for butting into our lives too... I say this in a positive way. Those people who know us best and love us the most have telepathic hot-lines into our hearts and thoughts. They don't have to be in the room with you... they are able to pick up on your thoughts and feelings from across town, heck, from across the ocean.
